DROWN SET TO RACE FOR WEBSTER MOTORSPORT IN AUSTRALIA
SENSATIONAL USA LATE MODEL INVASION TOUR DOWN UNDER
Late Model Racing Australia are proud to announce a 4 Car USA Late Model Team including Steve Shaver, Doug Drown, Steve Francis and Jeremy Payne will tour Western Australia in Early January 2012. After several months of planning and negotiations that have stretched around the world we are delighted to confirm that 4 of the world’s best late model drivers will be appearing for 4 nights of massive racing. Never before has such a high calibre team of USA drivers competed in speedway in Australia and to have them in the premier worldwide sedan class in cars they race in every week for a living is nothing short of sensational.
The 4 explosive nights of action will be packed into just seven days in WA’s Picturesque South West.
Rounds 1 and 2 will be held at what is arguably Australia’s fastest speedway, Manjimup on Sunday the 1st & Monday 2nd January. Teams will then a get a chance to service and tune their cars and show the visitors the fantastic attractions the region has to offer including old growth forest, pristine beaches, wineries etc. Round 3 heads to the Smoke Free Collie Speedway on Friday night the 6th.
The slick conditions that often prevail on the 500m circuit will make the American drivers feel right at home. The 4th and final night will go down at Bunbury City Speedway – scene of some fantastic Australia vs USA Events is the 80’s.
This is a fantastic opportunity for all speedway followers to witness outstanding Late Model racing against the best that Australia has to offer. It will also give WA’s Late Model drivers the opportunity to test their talents against some of the world’s best. Two of our leading drivers Craig Vosbergen & Brad Blake have both competed in the USA before and know exactly what they are up against.
Blake said “I can’t wait for the event. The driver line up in amazing. I’m glad one round is at my home track Bunbury as I’ll have a chance there but I think we will get caned everywhere else.”
Vosbergen said “It’s a lot of work to get these guys downunder for these few races but we just can’t wait to race these guys on our home soil, it’s a slight leveler for us and I’m sure everyone is going to be in for some awesome late model racing!!”
